Activities for Mr. Shooshan's Math Class

Your assignment for today is to explore "Ask Dr. Math for Middle School" at the "Math Forum." You must find a topic that is explained by Dr. Math, print out the topic, and be prepared to talk about the topic during class next week.

An alternative assignment for today is to plan an overnight trip with one tank of gas in your car. Your car gets 25 miles per gallon. Your tank holds 16 gallons. Gas is $4.00 per gallon.

You have $500 total to spend.

You must submit a plan including your destination (remembering to make sure you have enough gas for the round-trip), the name and cost of the hotel, how much you will spend for gas (assume you have just enough gas to get to the gas station to fill up), how much you will spend for meals (two lunches, one dinner, one breakfast), and what you will do for entertainment (and the cost of the entertainment -- example: $100 for concert tickets for you and your friend). Happy planning!
